CRLP Boys Lock-In

CRLP Boys Lock-In

College Readiness and Leadership Program had a Boys Lock In last Friday January 27th. Our dedicated CRLP mentors spent their valuable 9 hours with CRLP students at school. They had three hours study time with character education time. Mr. Shepherd shared a story with students during character education time. Then they played hockey, basketball, play station, and volleyball. All CRLP students and mentors had an excellent time. Thanks to all CRLP mentors, students, and parents.

CRLP visited NASA!!!

On Saturday, January 14, 2017, sixty CRLP (College Readiness and Leadership Program) students, parents and mentors traveled to the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas to learn about the history and impact of the Space exploration program. Students were able to attend various workshops, view the control room, try on astronaut gear and learn more about Space. This was the first time most of our students and parents attended. They also were able to enjoy a picnic near Nassau Bay and engage in sports and enjoy the water view. This field trip was made possible through a Title 1 grant from NASA and several months of fundraising on behalf of CRLP students and mentors. We thank the SST community and Get Up Community Center for supporting us by purchasing lollipops, paying to enter the Haunted House at Fall Fest and the in-kind donations.
